		<description><![CDATA[President of Dallas County Young Democrats of America elected to the groups national Board of Directors.]]></description>
			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><span style="color: #000000;">Renee Hartley, President of the Dallas Young Democrats of America was elected to the group&#8217;s national Board of Directors at their 2009 convention in Chicago earlier this month.  Hartley is one of three vice-presidents on the YDA Board.  She served the local chapter in a number of capacities before being elected Dallas County president in February of this year.<br />

<p><span style="color: #000000;">Renee was born in Pensacola, Florida, and is an alumni of Grambling State University.  She and her husband Don were married in 1998 and have 3 children.  Renee started blogging about the same time that I did when she created the Blue Island Blog. She is extremely passionate about the Democratic Party and has worked diligently during local, state, and national elections.<br />

<p><span style="color: #000000;">Young Democrats of America is a partisan group who mobilizes citizens under the age of 35 to participate in the political process.  They have more than 1,500 chapters in 46 states and U.S. Territories.<br />
