From the Dallas South News Wire

Comedienne Sheryl Underwood, a contributor to the nationally syndicated Tom Joyner Morning Show, will appear December 5 between 11am and 1pm at the Randall Reed’s Prestige Ford on South Shiloh off 635 & Garland Road to help raise money for black colleges.

For every test drive, Ford donates $25 to the Foundation for the black college chosen by the driver. In addition, all customers to take a test drive and make their donation to Paul Quinn College in Dallas, will receive an additional contribution match of $25 from Zeta Phi Beta sorority, as well as an additional $25 from the Tom Joyner Foundation®.  Underwood is the president of the sorority.

There will be music from 94.5KSoul, The Soul of DFW, which airs the nationally syndicated Tom Joyner Morning Show weekday mornings between 5am – 9am, BBQ and plenty of giveaways.  Since October, the Tom Joyner Foundation® and Ford have partnered to raise $250,000 for black colleges in a test drive program that is available at every dealership in the country.

The Foundation is asking HBCU alumni and supporters of black college to download a registration form from BlackAmericaWeb.com or from Drive4HBCU.com and take it to any local Ford dealership where they can test drive any Ford vehicle.  The Foundation has traveled to campuses around the country, including Florida A&M University in Tallahassee, FL, Clark Atlanta University in Atlanta, GA, Tuskegee University in Tuskegee, AL, Howard University in Washington, DC.

“Ford has always been a big supporter of the HBCU’s, and a supporter of the Tom Joyner Foundation,” said Tom Joyner,  the Foundation’s chairman.

Crystal Worthem, multicultural marketing manager, Ford Motor Company, said she is excited about the program.  “ ‘The Drive One For Your HBCU’s’ program is an initiative that is designed to encourage those within and outside of the HBCU community to get on board in our efforts to raise funds for HBCU’s and ultimately education,” she said. “Partnering with Tom Joyner and the Tom Joyner Foundation on this initiative was the ideal fit for us as Tom also has such a rich history in supporting HBCU’s.”
