The Dallas Association of Young Lawyers (DAYL) invites locals to Oak Cliff-based entertainment hotspot, The Kessler Theater, for an energetic night of live music; showcasing the best in DFW talent to benefit South Dallas education on Thursday, October 17th

The 2012 DAYL Leadership Class is proud to announce GrowSouth Jams, a concert benefiting three Dallas Independent School District schools adopted by Mayor Rawlings and his GrowSouth initiative—a program aimed towards strengthening and developing neighborhoods, schools and businesses in the southern sector of Dallas.  The concert is set to take place in the heart of Oak Cliff at the Kessler Theater, on Thursday, October 17, 2013 and will go from 7 p.m. until 11 p.m.

The concert features an all-star line-up showcasing the best in DFW local talent.  The show’s opener, Tim Halperin, was an American Idol Top 12 Male Finalist and has performed with A-list celebrities such as Kelly Clarkson, The Fray, Jason Derulo and other chart-toppers to name a few. The energetic and award-winning UNT band, The Boombachs, will follow Halperin and are known for hyping the crowd.  Winner of the 2012 Southwest Regional Battle of the Bands and BonFire Music’s “Artists of the Week”, The Boombachs’ creative fusion of jazz and hip-hop blends will garner much in the way of surprises for the GrowSouth audience. Headlining the event is local favorite and stand out talent, Larry g(EE).  Just fresh off of performances with Grammy award-winning artist Erykah Badu and international recording artist Emeli Sande’, Larry g(EE) will deliver an unforgettable performance. The local funk band made an appearance this year on ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live along with solidifying regular appearances on Good Day Texas and D: The Broadcast.

Proceeds from GrowSouth Jams will be donated to Lincoln High School, Madison High School and Dade Middle School in order to provide them with resources and to help address needs and wants at their individual campuses.

Sponsors for DAYL’s GrowSouth Jams include: McCathern PLLC, Carter Stafford Arnett Hamada & Mockler PLLC and HG Litigation.

Tickets for GrowSouth Jams are $25.00 each both online and at the door. Individual donations are also welcome. To purchase tickets, please visit Check out the event page on Facebook at For more information on the GrowSouth initiative, please visit
