Trammell S. Crow

Trammell S. Crow, an heir to a Dallas-based real estate empire, has donated $100,000 to the Urban League of Greater Dallas Capital Campaign. These funds will move the drive closer to the construction of a 50,000 square foot state-of-the-art Trades and Technical Skills Training Center.

“The Urban League, for all of my lifetime, has been an institution that has helped make America great. Its future expansion will continue to improve the career skills of thousands of Texans. I’m honored to be a part of that,” said Crow.

In recent years, there has been a decline in the number of licensed and certified trade’s persons; yet the demand for employees skilled in the trades remains high. The Training Center will provide training in fields such as mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems, Basic CADD Drafting, A+, Network+ and other computer certifications, construction materials, methods and equipment, occupational safety, masonry, carpentry, roofing, welding, green jobs training and other areas of training as identified based on demand and recommendations from The Center’s Industry Council.

“The very generous donation from Trammell S. Crow will provide a future for individuals and businesses throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex,” said Dr. Beverly Mitchell-Brooks, Urban League President and CEO. “We will teach, train and certify a new workforce and also help citizens achieve stability and become productive citizens where they live and work.”
