Bling for a Cure and Help Others Too!

  • Sharebar

You can help others and have some fun too by attending Bling for a Cure,   a posh and glam-filled party with a purpose. A portion of the proceeds go to underwrite visits to underserved areas of Dallas County by the mobile mammography van of Methodist Health System.  This dazzling event will be held at the African American Museum, Sunday January 20, 2013 from 7:00- 11:00pm. It will include dancing with a DJ and a live band, an art show and a fashion show.

Bling for a Cure is the signature event of a yearlong fund raising project of Dr. Sheron C. Patterson, a breast cancer survivor and member of the Board of Directors of Methodist Health System. She’s been garnering city-wide support to help 1,000 low income women receive free mammograms.

Held during Martin Luther King Jr. weekend, “Bling for a Cure is a 2013 way to commemorate the birthday of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and his career long empowerment of the poor,” she said.

“I am excited about this event. The people of Dallas are very generous, and always looking for unique ways to give back,”  said Dr. Patterson. “They can be glamorous and generous at the same time.”
