KaBOOM! and Kool-Aid Lead Initiative to Get Kids Playing
The nationally recognized non-profit KaBOOM! will partner with Kool-Aid, Passage of Youth Family Services and local volunteers to construct a new playground in Southeast Dallas on Wednesday, August 22 at 1143 Carbona Dr. The playground will be completed, from start to finish, in just one day.
The new playground built by KaBOOM! and Kool-Aid is part of an initiative with a twofold purpose: to promote the importance of children getting out to play and to remind parents to encourage their kids to do so. The playground build is also one of more than 150 KaBOOM! will lead across the country this year in an effort to provide a great place to play within walking distance of every child in America.
Passage of Youth Family Services, organizers from KaBOOM! and more than 200 volunteers from Kool-Aid and residents of the Southeast Dallas community will join forces to build a safe, new playground. The new playground design is based on drawings provided by local children who attended a Design Day event in June. The new playground will eventually give hundreds of children a safe place to play.
Kick off and volunteer deployment begins at 8:30 a.m. The ribbon-cutting for the new area will be at 2:30 p.m.
