The NYLO Dallas South Side Hotel opens today in the fashionable Cedars neighborhood. The debate has already begun on whether the view of downtown Dallas from hotel’s rooftop terrace is the best in the city. It’s pretty hard to beat when your line of site is also taking in the infinity pool and your steps away from the full bar, cabanas and cozy lounge chairs with a fire pit.
Developer Matthews Southwest continues to execute on its bold vision for the Cedars area with the completion of the boutique hotel. The NYLO brand is well known for its ultra-chic loft properties, but NYLO Dallas South Side puts a new spin on interpretation of the brand because it is a conversion of the historic 101-year-old Dallas Coffin Co building. The structure retains much of the original exterior and interior walls, windows and floors. The vintage structure is set off with bright colors, hip fixtures and furniture and green features throughout.
The NYLO Dallas South Side is Southern Dallas’ first hotel since the 1940s. Located just south on Lamar, it neighbors the trendy The Cedars Social, Gilley’s Dallas/The Palladium and the South Side on Lamar complex. The hotel features a French bistro style restaurant, pool table and bar on the lobby level and 950 sq. ft. of indoor meeting space. Mayor Mike Rawlings and invited guests will mark the day with a ribbon cutting.
