The Anthony Chisom AIDS Foundation (ACAF) is proud to announce the 2nd Annual South Dallas AIDS Walk benefiting ACAF, AIDS Interfaith Network, DFW Pride Movement, and Abounding Prosperity, Inc. The event is scheduled for Saturday, March 24, 2012 at the South Dallas Cultural Center located at 3400 South Fitzhugh Avenue.
This year’s ambassadors to lead the walk will be Black AIDS Institute’s Founder and CEO, Phill Wilson, and CW 33’s DFW Close Up Host, Ashley Roberts. City Councilwoman, Carolyn Davis of District 7, will open the ceremony to greet the attendees.
This year’s theme of the 2nd Annual South Dallas AIDS Walk (SDAW), “Our Journey Continues One Step at a Time” extends the mission which is to “inspire, rally, and galvanize the community of South Dallas to continue to curb the spread of HIV/AIDS and aid those in need”. In light of reports that Dallas County has the highest rates of new HIV infections in the State of Texas, “We are defiant and determined to do all we can to halt the spread of HIV/AIDS in Dallas and around the world.” said, Anthony Chisom, ACAF founder.
Hundreds of key supporters, who have worked diligently in raising funds for the 2nd Annual South Dallas AIDS Walk, are expected to participate in this inspiring and entertaining event. Live entertainment from local artists and groups will perform at both the opening and closing ceremonies. The Dallas County Medical Mobile Clinic will be onsite to provide testing as well there will be several information booths for nonprofit groups and small businesses.
Also attending will be representatives from the event’s top sponsors and top corporate teams, including

The South Dallas AIDS Walk is an initiative of the Anthony Chisom AIDS Foundation, a 501(c) (3) organization established in Dallas with the mission of bringing SUPPORT, HEALTH, HOPE & MEDICINE to local HIV/AIDS organizations with clientele located in the southern sector of Dallas.
Registration begins at 8:00 AM; Walk starts at 10:00 AM. The registration fee is $25/walker, $30/walker with pet and free for teenagers 16 and under. And of course there’s still time for you to form teams. Following the walk, The 2nd Annual South Dallas AIDS Walk Finale Party hosted by Tha Afterparty Radio (www.thaafterpartyradio.com) will take place from 7:30-10P at Trinity River Sports Café. Presale tickets $10 and $15 at the door.
