As part of Black History Month, UT Arlington will host Dr. Charles E. Jones, professor of Africana Studies, from the University of Cincinnati’s Department of Africana Studies at 6 p.m., Thursday, March 1 in the E.H. Hereford University Center, 300 W. First St.
Dr. Jones is the former founding chair of the Department of African American Studies at Georgia State University and president of the National Council of Black Studies.
In conjunction with the establishment of UT Arlington’s new Center for African American Studies, he will present the lecture, “Here to Stay: Africana Studies in the 21st Century.”
The lecture is free and open to the public.
