By Shawn Williams

State Senator Royce West and family are mourning the loss of his middle son, Remarcus Larry West, age 33.  The younger West died after a lengthy battle with a gastrointestinal illness.

I confirmed the information with someone close to Senator West’s office today and messages of sympathy have been left on Remarcus’ Facebook page.  Arrangements are pending and we will share information as it becomes available.  Our thoughts and prayers are with Senator West and his entire family.

So tragic, may you rest in the arms of an angel and be at peace. Your battle is over.

  • Rev. Larry Williams

Senator West it is my sincere prayer that God comforts the hearts of you and your family during your bereavement. I’ve never lost a child but I’ve experienced many deaths of loved ones and I sympathize with the West family. In the book of Job 14:14 the question is asked “If a man dies will he live again”? Job didn’t know the price Jesus was to pay so that we could live again. know that your son loved Jesus and yes,he will live again with all of you. Be blessed and trust in the Lord.

With the love of Christ Jesus,

No more pain no more suffering. Safe in the arms of his creator. He is safe from the evils and trials of this life. He is ok. Jesus left this world around that age. He is ok. We will catch up with him later.

I appreciate your support in the community, although I’ve never met you or your son. Please know that God is a comforter and your memories never die! Treasure those good times you’ve had together, the laughs, the first times he did certain things that made you smile.

Hello Royce, this is Mable (Harris) Cannings, an old PC Anderson Jr. High School classmate. I just happened upon this post today regarding your son and I am deeply touched. I wanted to express my sorrow in your loss. I know that only time can heal this space in your heart. We now share a common suffering of the lost of our children. I pray that you too will find solace in knowing that God never makes a mistake. I pray that you will find peace in the memory of the years you both shared together. God bless and keep you and your family in the days ahead.
