Yes, Health Insurance is Still Unaffordable (Infographic)

During Obama’s presidency, we looked forward to healthcare reform, more specifically, a less costly health insurance. We were hopeful, eager, excited. The word ‘Change’ resonated in middle America’s dreams. However, and call it what you will, but perhaps we were a bit too eager. A bit too excited.

In 2010, as the Affordable Care Act went into effect, our hearts sort of dropped. More or less disappointed. Why? Well, it seems as though instead of dropping the cost of health insurance, it shot up. A mere solution is to blame our President. This graphic by Medical Billing and Coding Certification gives us some explanation.

An increase in premiums. Higher deductibles. A decrease in overall employment salary, resulting in insurance companies profiting more than ever. So the President isn’t all to blame. Unfortunately, it makes sense. When the act was put into place, I’m sure the initial reaction of these insurance companies were, “Aww man! We gotta figure something out!” And they did. Take a look at the graphic and you’ll know exactly what I mean.
