Buttons Restaurants is opening their third location in the Desoto Town Center, 207 E Pleasant Run Rd Ste 141, Desoto, TX 75115. The space was previously occupied by Jokes and Jazz. The Buttons restaurant experience is the brainchild of Executive Chef Keith ‘Buttons’ Hicks, who received his nickname from his grandmother. Chef Hicks’ partners include the husband and wife duo of Carolyn and Herbert Hughes. Buttons is intent on providing a dining experience for the Soul in combination with great entertainment from local and national artists. But for Chef, the food always come first.
Button’s Desoto held a preview and welcome to the neighborhood event last Tuesday night attended by approximately 120 patrons that featured a selection of prime rib sliders, shrimp cocktail and chicken kabobs along with soft jazz. The Desoto location, though smaller than its sister locations in Ft. Worth and Addison, has ample seating with a nice sized dance floor new nouveau styling giving it an upscale feel and appeal often lacking on the south side of town.
Chef Hicks talked about his inspiration and how he goes about creating dishes like Flash Fried Skrimpz. “I look at a piece of meat and think to myself, ‘how would it like to be seasoned’ and create menu items based on that.” said Hicks. He will be personally overseeing the Desoto location in the near term and is a very engaging and charismatic entrepreneur focused on expressing his artistic creativity through his food.
The menu will be very similar to those at the other two locations including the signature Chicken and Waffles, steaks, seafood and mouth-watering greens. Service at the new location was excellent for the preview with several employees from the other Buttons locations providing assistance and guidance to the new staff. A full bar and wine menu is available to put the finishing touches on any meal or patrons who drop by to hang out for happy hour. In addition, Buttons Desoto will have an all-you-can-eat Sunday Brunch with light jazz.
Let’s welcome our new neighbor to the area and show them our southern Dallas County hospitality as they open their doors to us.
