Everson Walls Zumbas at Jubilee Center

By Shawn Williams

Former Dallas Cowboys defensive back Everson Walls was up early Monday morning to Zumba for a cause.  Walls took part in a Latin dance/exercise class at the Jubilee Park and Community Center.  It was part of Verizon’s 45 Days to Super Bowl XLV program where Walls and other Cowboys greats will volunteer their time at North Texas service organizations.

Walls is no stranger to promoting healthy living.  A few years back he donated a kidney to his former teammate Ron Springs, who was suffering from diabetes.  The two formed the Gift For Life Foundation after the successful kidney transplant.

Deion Sanders, Miles Austin, Chad Hennings and others will fan out across North Texas to promote education, fitness and community.  Verizon will make a $1,500 donation to each community organization that they visit over the next 45 days.

Verizon will host Community Mondays and School Day Tuesdays up until the Super Bowl at other Southern Dallas locations, including H.S. Thompson Learning Center, Adelle Turner Elementary School and St. Phillips Community Center.
