Pastor Frederick D. Haynes, III, Pastor Rickie Rush, Pastor Bryan Carter and Pastor Kerry Wesley have joined efforts to address a commercial element in the community that leaves families in an economic crisis. Friendship-West Baptist Church, Inspiring Body of Christ and Antioch Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church (F.I.C.A.) have come together for the purpose of creating community awareness of predatory lending businesses in the southern sector and assisting citizens who have been victimized by payday/title loan businesses.
The coalition will lead a march on Saturday, November 20, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. Participants will meet at Friendship-West Baptist Church located at 2020 W. Wheatland Rd. and Antioch Fellowship located at 7550 S. Hampton Rd. The march will conclude at the Southwest Center Mall parking lot on Camp Wisdom for a Rally.
The purpose of the march is to bring all concerned citizens, elected officials and clergy together in a public show of unity to educate the community on how payday/title loans work, discuss available resources and inform the public on upcoming F.I.C.A. initiatives. Black Friday marks the beginning of the holiday shopping season. It is our collective intent to communicate to the public not to overspend or take out payday/title loans to meet their holiday shopping needs
