From the DSN Newswire (Delta Sigma Theta – SW Dallas Co. Chapter)
Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Southwest Dallas County Alumnae Chapter is proud to announce its upcoming community event, The Delta Challenge: National Homeownership Seminar. The Delta Challenge: National Homeownership Seminar is designed to allow the community to be trained on the three phases of Homeownership. Through workshop presentations, attendees will be enlightened on: 1) the process of buying a home; 2) provided tips on living in their home; and 3) acquire information on how to keep your home from going into foreclosure. With the current mortgage crisis, it is important that we continue to inform the African-American community about opportunities to purchase homes and ways to prevent the loss of their home.
The Homeownership Seminar will be held on Thursday, May 6, 2010 from 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm at the Friendship-West Baptist Church-Kiest Campus. The Friendship-West Kiest Campus is located at 616 W. Kiest Road, Dallas, TX 75224. The seminar will consist of a presentation by Andrea Allen, Branch Manager of Mortex Lending LTD on mortgage lending and budget planning.
As we seek to transform lives, our chapter has awarded numerous scholarships and provided high caliber programs for the benefit of the DeSoto, Lancaster, Cedar Hill, Duncanville, Wilmer and Hutchins communities that we serve. Each member makes a difference as we strive for a higher purpose of giving and serving others for our Sisterhood’s noble cause.
