By Michael L. Counter, Jr. – Dallas South News Intern

Today marks the official first “Must Read Monday.”

This new Dallas South News feature will occur one Monday per month with a new post each hour from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. focusing on a particular theme. February 2010′s theme is “Relationships: Civic, Social, & Romantic.”

We’ll hear from Lorrie Irby as she asks “Where is the love?” Where has the love song gone? L.D. Thomas will explore the importance of young black men and their  relationship with their elders.

In keeping with Valentine’s Day, editor of Chick Talk Dallas Joanna Cattanach will defend Cupid and his wayward arrow, or at least the department store Valentine’s Day overload. J.W. Mandrake from Mandrake Society Radio encourages the Dallas gay community to celebrate its love in spite of all of the Texas red state propaganda.

Dallas County Judge hopeful Clay Jenkins speaks of his love for Dallas and the city’s greatness that he hopes to further cultivate.  And stay tuned for others who will add their two cents as well.  Let us know what you think.

Michael L. Counter, Jr. is a Dallas South News intern. He attends Midwestern State University and is completing his Bachelor’s degree in English with a focus in media studies.
