Koffee and Kompany, an innovator in all natural, handmade beauty and body products, has partnered with actor Lamman Rucker to create a signature body care line called “forplai” (For PLAY).
Rucker will unveil the first phase of products from his “forplai” body line at a series of exclusive shopping events on Saturday, February 13, 2010, during NBA All-Star Weekend. All events will take place at Koffee Day Spa, located at 1700 Wood Street in trendy downtown Dallas.
“Lamman is the ideal celebrity to partner with in creating an all natural body line. He has undeniable sex appeal and epitomizes class and sophistication,” says Koffee and Kompany owner, Thai Morrison. Rucker, who stars in Tyler Perry’s hit TBS sitcom “Meet the Browns,” is one of Hollywood’s rising stars. His breakthrough performances have industry insiders calling him one of Hollywood’s next leading men.
“I’m immensely excited about my new signature body line and partnership with Thai Morrison and Koffee and Kompany. “forplai” was created to encourage people to remember to have fun, claim their joy and rediscover the opportunity to play and smile everyday,” says Rucker.
The “forplai” body care line will feature lotions, bath salts and more that are drizzled in rich vanillas and hues of spice with a dash of sexy. The line is scheduled for a national launch in the spring. But these exclusive retail events will provide consumers with a highly anticipated sneak peak and an opportunity to make purchases and experience the magic in advance. The “forplai” body care line was personally designed by Rucker for women and couples as a soft and subtle introduction to intimacy. Rucker adds, “I want people to remind themselves that they are sexy, special and loved.”
Doors will open to the general public for shopping from 3:30 pm – 6:00 pm. A Gift Bag featuring Koffee and Kompany products will be available for purchase. Special discounts and giveaways will also be offered throughout the event.
However, fans who want a more personal shopping experience can join Rucker for VIP shopping from 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm. “I’m eager to see people integrating our products into their daily lives and routines,” states Rucker.
VIP shoppers will indulge in Spa inspired cuisine from world class Chef Jerome “Rome” Brown. A favorite among celebrities, world class athletes and dignitaries, Chef Rome’s clients includeColin Powell, King Carl Gustaf of Sweden and NBA superstar Shaquille O’Neal.
Sultry sounds for the evening will be provided by DJ Frances Jay of the Neo Soul Café. In addition, there will be photo and autograph opportunities with Rucker who will discuss the inspiration behind “forplai” and the exciting product elements consumers can expect from the innovative line.
Currently, Rucker is starring in the historic drama “Black Angels Over Tuskegee,” featuring The Black Gents of Hollywood. The production will debut off – Broadway on January 29, 2010 at St Lukes Theatre after a successful Los Angeles preview. In 2009, “Black Angels Over Tuskegee” won the NAACP Theatre Award for “Best Ensemble” and an Artistic Director Achievement Award for “Best Play.” In addition to his television and theatre projects, Rucker will reprise his role as heartthrob ‘Sheriff Troy’ in the highly anticipated sequel “Why Did I Get Married, Too” scheduled for release in April, 2010.
