Looks like Dallas Mayor Tom Leppert is all in with the Cowboys, placing a bet with Philadelphia’s mayor that the Cowboys will be victorious on Saturday night. Leppert and Philly Mayor Micahel A. Nutter have agreed to provide lunch for the winning team’s Habitat for Humanity volunteers.
Is this a sucker bet? Did the Eagles hustle The Boys last Sunday, looking forward to a surprise showing in their rematch at the Death Star?
“Having lulled the Cowboys into a false sense of security, the Eagles will come out and dominate the Cowboys in a game that actually matters,” said Mayor Nutter.
If the Eagles win, then Philly’s habitat volunteers will receive Sonny Bryan’s Smokehouse Barbecue and Dr. Pepper. If the Eagles pull off the upset, then Dallas volunteers will be treated to Philly cheesesteaks and Tastykakes (would someone please send me a Tastykake….I’ve never been to Philly).
“I’m sure our Dallas Habitat will be pleased to get Michael’s tasty contribution,” said Mayor Leppert. “I can taste those Philly cheesesteaks now!”
Dallas and Philadelphia will match up at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington Saturday night at 7:00 p.m. Maybe I’ll call Mike Davis and see if he wants to wager Tastykakes. He’s a Philly guy.
