Big D NYE is the place to be on New Year’s Eve to ring in 2010. Victory Park will be transformed into the Times Square of North Texas with live music, fireworks and the countdown to midnight. Information: Via DART Rail Green Line to Victory Station.

Jan. 1
The Comerica Bank New Year’s Day Parade will “Celebrate Entertainment” and downtown revitalization while welcoming visitors to the city for the AT&T Cotton Bowl Classic. The parade begins at 2:30 p.m. at Trammell Crow Center in the Arts District and concludes at American Airlines Center. Information: Via DART Rail Red Line, Blue Line or Green Line to Pearl, St. Paul, Akard, and West End stations; Via DART Rail Green Line to Victory Station. Note: DART bus and light rail services will follow a Sunday schedule on New Year’s Day. TRE does not operate on New Year’s Day.

Through Jan. 3
The Trains at NorthPark takes you across America aboard the most elaborate toy train exhibit in Texas. More than 40 Lionel-type O-Gauge and G-Gauge locomotives chug along 2,500 feet of  winding track past miniature landmarks including the Dallas skyline, Mount Rushmore, New York City’s Times Square and Washington, D.C. The exhibit is open during regular shopping hours and is located on Level One between Macy’s and Dillard’s.

Also, enjoy story time at Santa’s Village, the interactive Scrooge puppet show, and Sounds & Sights of the Season daily. All this and more await you at NorthPark Center, Central Expressway at Northwest Highway. Jan. 3
Disney Live! Rockin’ Road Show is coming to Dallas for an exclusive one-day engagement at American Airlines Center. Join your favorite Disney characters – Minnie, Goofy, Donald, Buzz Lightyear, Cinderella, Tigger and more – as they hop on Mickey’s bus to search for acts to add to their stage show. Catch one of three fun shows at 12:30 p.m., 3:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Information: Via DART Rail to Victory Station. No TRE service on Sundays.
