U.S. Secretary of Transportation Ray LaHood will be joined by Congresswoman Eddie Bernice Johnson and Dallas Mayor Tom Leppert for a visit to the Recovery Act-funded Woodall Rodgers Park project in downtown Dallas this Monday, November 30th at 11:10am. Congresswoman Johnson was the only Member of Congress in the Dallas-Fort Worth area to vote for the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.

With the help of $16.7 million in ARRA (American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009) funding, construction of the 5.2-acre Woodall Rodgers Park project is now underway. When complete, the Park will include bike and pedestrian paths, cultural gathering space, and improved connectivity between downtown and uptown. The Woodall Rodgers Park project is the largest Texas project receiving funds under ARRA’s Transportation Enhancements program.

Following a project update from the Woodall Rodgers Park Foundation and Archer Western, the officials will speak about the Park’s benefits for the community and for the local economy.
