I’ve had the idea for “Voices of the South” since we started DSN and I’m finally able to post the first feature. The thought is to marry photo and audio to form a narrative around a resident, former resident, or advocate of Southern Dallas.
Janice Gore, affectionately known as Ms. Jan, is a life long resident of Oak Cliff and owner of Texas Caribbean Foods at Southside on Lamar. She tells the story of how she met artist Sam Fuller and help him realize one of this dreams while another is still hangs in the balance. Hope you enjoy.
