Bernadette Nutall to announce endorsements from Candidates, Community Leaders at Rally

Two of the former candidates will unite to formally endorse Bernadette Nutall in the runoff election to fill the vacant District 9 seat on the Dallas Independent School District Board of Trustees on Monday afternoon, November 16, 2009 at DISD Administration Building.

Juanita Wallace and Rossi Walter, who represented 22 percent of the general election vote total have endorsed Nutall citing her qualifications and commitment to children as factors in their decision. Joining them at the rally will be community and education activists Harryette Ehrhardt and Rev. Dr. Zan W. Holmes, Jr. who are also encouraging District 9 residents to vote for Nutall in the December 8 runoff election.

“I am delighted to have the support of these community leaders who understand the need to have a strong advocate for children on the school board,” says Nutall. “I look forward to representing all the children, parents and hard working teachers in District 9.”

Nutall has also been endorsed by the Alliance/ATF, Dallas Friends of Public Education, Dallas AFL-CIO, National Education Association Dallas Chapter, The Real Estate Council, MetroTex Association of Realtors, and The Dallas Morning News.

The rally will begin at 3:30 p.m. in front of the DISD Administration Building, located at 3700 Ross Avenue, Dallas , TX 75204.

Early voting begins November 23, 2009, and continues everyday through December 4, 2009. All voting locations will be closed on Thursday, November 26 in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday.
