DALLAS – Businesses in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex are invited to participate in a career expo at the University of North Texas at Dallas Oct. 20 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

The campus hosts the career expo to connect students with local companies where they may gain experience while finishing their degrees or work after graduation. Jessica Recht, career services coordinator at UNT Dallas, says the career fair introduces students to some of their options in “life after college.”

“We want our students to have the opportunity to learn about local and regional career opportunities,” Recht said. “This type of event is especially important in our current economy when good jobs are hard to come by. Many employers are looking to fill openings as the economy improves. We want to connect our students with those employers.”

Companies that wish to participate in the career expo may register online at www.unt.edu/unt-dallas/jaguarjobs/. The $75 registration fee includes lunch for two representatives. Non-profit companies may contact the Student Development Office at 972-780-3632 or studentdevelopment@unt.edu for a discounted rate. The deadline to register is Oct. 9 at 5 p.m.

The university is located at 7300 Houston School Road one mile north of I-20, and one mile east of I-35E off of Camp Wisdom.
