Turner House Salon Series Begins in September

Mark you calendars now for the first annual Turner House Salon Series.   The three evenings will offer presentations on architecture, opera and visual arts, hosted by OC residents with expertise in and a love of the arts.

“A View From Modern Architecture”
Presented by Kevin Sloan

Thursday, September 10,  7:30 – 9p

Kevin Sloan is a Winnetka Heights resident and visiting professor at the UTA School of Architecture. The projects of his professional practice, Kevin Sloan Studio, include works in landscape architecture, urban planning and design.

“A Feast of Italian Opera”
A concert of Italian Opera arias and duets presented by Chris Barker

Thursday, October 8,  7:30 – 9p

Chris Barker, also a Winnetka Heights resident, is an operatic tenor who will perform with other singers from Oak Cliff.  Narrative comments are by Martha Gerhart, pianist for the event and Adjunct Faculty member at SMU.

An Exhibition of Oak Cliff Artists Curated by Kenda North  Thursday, November 12th, 7:30 – 9p

Kenda North is a resident of Stevens Park Estates and a
Professor in photography at UT Arlington.  She will present an exhibit of visual art featuring Oak Cliff artists who work in diverse styles and media.
